Birdie is spoiled rotten! She loves to climb on my back and steal my attention from the other goats. My other bottle babies are so jealous! The photos below are not set-up, just casual.

We actually use to own 3 Lamanchas last fall. We had purchased two adult mature does, one being 8 years old and the other a 4 year old as well as a doe kid. Unfortunately the adult does did not mesh well with our Nigerians so we felt it best to not push the issue and let them go on to an experience Lamancha breeder instead. I never thought about keeping the doeling since she did get along great with our Nigerians. Well hind sight is 20/20 they say. I really enjoyed the Lamanchas personalities and demeanor. I had planned to breed some purebreds and minis from them in order to show them this past spring and milk them. When I learned of this doe kid being available I decided it was time to try again. This time with just one and a friendly doe kid who would be more easily accepted by my Nigerians. The size was the most intimidating thing for them last year. The Lamanchas were so much bigger than the Nigerians.
I have done a little research on this doeling's background. Her dam is lovely and only a first freshener. Her maternal granddam is a champion Linear Appraised at 90 being Excellent. Her paternal granddam is a stunning doe who Linear Appraised at 89 VE. See the link to her photo below. This doe should freshen beautifully. I look forward to seeing how she matures and freshens here.
