Blessing was our first registered kid born here. I had purchased her dam bred therefore Blessing took a different herdname. Blessing was spoiled absolutely rotten as a result of being the only kid during the summer. She is very special to us so though she may not be our best doe in the herd, she is still one we will hang onto. Blessing's first freshening was during a very cold December in 2007. I did not clip or fill her for photos so the fist freshening photos you may see are not good representations of her udder. I had an idea of what her udder was like after seeing her freshen and expected a less than ideal udder this year. She exceeded my expectations easily with her udder this spring. She gained a great deal of capacity and with her clipping and uddering in we discovered she actually had a pretty nice udder. She could still use some rear height and perhaps a better defined medial, but she doesn't lack in ease of milking. She reminds me most of Faith. She has large handfuls of teats that have large orifices. She makes milking a dream. She's quiet as a mouse on the stand and knows she's a dairy goat. I would love to get on milk testing one day and prove how productive these girls are. Blessing is bred to Larkspur for her 2009 kidding. I am glad I chose him for Blessing. His dam has a very high wide rear udder and also has large teats. Larkspur has an EXCELLENT rear end and extreme width between his hocks that is exceptional even on the move. He is definitely strong in the rear. Blessing has pretty good feet and legs and may be just a slight bit hocky on the rear so the cross with Larkspur should increase the space between her hocks as well as the height in the rear udder. Since Larkspur is now sold we may retain a doe kid. Depends on herd size and number of kids retained in the spring.
