SWEET GUM MINIS & MANCHAS |

Previously Owned Does
10-24-08
All does below we have owned. They are listed
here because their offspring have either been sold or still reside in
our herd. Hard decisions have to be made when you want to keep your own
kids, otherwise the herd will double or triple too fast. So we have to
let some of them go. Here they are and we miss them all! |

Spring Woods Rose![]() Photos property of Sweet Gum Minis.
Height: approximately 19"Rose was actually my first registered goat. She had a beautiful personality as well as coloration. I loved her a lot. She kidded here 3 times before it was determined she should be retired. She has since retired with her last daughter Evy and returned to the farm I had purchased her from. We know she'll be loved and cherished there! Her progeny produced while here at Sweet Gum Minis.

Anbonjo
Go Black Rose
Height: I bought Blossom when she was about 6 months old. We really liked this doe's udder and quiet demeanor. We retained her 2007 daughter Nottie, which was an improvement over her dam. This year we retained her red chamoise daughter Raven and are looking forward to seeing what Rue can do to improve Blossom's teat size. Blossom is a very sound doe who will make a great foundation doe. Her progeny produced while here at Sweet Gum Minis.

BV Forget-Me-Not
Height: Nottie was the first born kid here on our farm in the spring of 2007. She was also the first to take our herdname. Nottie actually was the only kid we retained from 2007. She was accidentally bred but kidded just beautifully just shy of her first birthday. We were very proud of her first freshened udder. She got the larger teat size that her dam lacked and a nice shaped udder. I was very pleased. Herd size and hard choices though, so she has moved on. Her progeny produced while here at Sweet Gum Minis.

Doublegate TT Petite![]() ![]() ![]() Photos property of Sweet Gum Minis.
Height: approximately 20"Petite was a doe I bought from a friend knowing she wasn't a milker. Well I wasn't milking at the time so the match was great. As our herd goals have changed so has her position in the herd. So a choice had to be made and we decided it was time for Petite to move on. She is not a milker by any means. She is an excellent brood doe and has a beautiful udder so she will definitely be productive. We have retained her 2008 daughter Gwen by Cruiser. Her progeny produced while here at Sweet Gum Minis.

Buttin'Heads Too Chamber Pot![]() Photo property of Sweet Gum Minis.
Height: Potsie is a gorgeous friendly doe. She has a huge productive udder which I was pleased to see. She isn't a large doe so it shocked me when she produced quadruplets. She and I had personality clashes so therefore it was time for her to move on though. I retained her daughter by Rue, Secrets, to continue her line in my herd. Her progeny produced while here at Sweet Gum Minis.

Buttin'Heads Too Contredanse![]() ![]() Photo property of Sweet Gum Minis.
Height: Contredanse has a much prettier udder, in my opinion, than Potsie's from the rear but Potsie more than surpasses Contredanse on the side profile. Contredanse and I got along much better, but our herd grew too large for our plans so I had to make some hard decisions. In order to keep some of my own kids I had to let some of the adult does go. I have retained her daughter Cha-Cha to our herd. Her progeny produced while here at Sweet Gum Minis.

Cornerstone Farm MM Sarah![]() ![]() Photos property of Sweet Gum Minis.
Height: Very laid back, sweet doe. My daughter really loved Sarah. She was from a very slow to mature line and she was actually beginning to look her best about the time she was leaving. I have retained one of her 2008 doelings to our herd. I cannot wait to watch Jasmine mature. I am pleased she didn't inherit her dam's ears. ;-) Her progeny produced while here at Sweet Gum Minis.

Kids Corral PB&Abe's Civil
War![]() ![]() Left photo courtesy of Carol Lindblom. Udder photo taken here.
Height: I lucked out getting Civil when I went to pick-up Cruiser. She was a gorgeous doe with a lovely udder and big easy to milk teats. Unfortunately she always gives me single bucks! She came to me bred and delivered Grant. Since she had just the single buck we opted not to bother with DNA testing. She was bred to Larkspur next and delivered another single buck. I had hoped to breed her to Cruiser for her second kidding here but Cruiser wasn't up for the job at the time. With our herd reduction I had to cut corners and I decided it was time for her to move on. I'm sure she'll bless someone else with her doelings. Her progeny produced while here at Sweet Gum Minis.

Better Blues HR Anna's Hera![]() ![]() ![]() Photos property of Sweet Gum Minis.
Height: I was on the waiting list at Better Blues for a doe kid out of Oceana. I had to remove my reservation at one point and later when I looked again she had a long like for doelings out of her. So when Oceana kidded I jumped at the opportunity to buy her only buckling of quads. See Zeus for more. I was so thrilled to be able to get him. Then a reservation fell through on one of the doelings and that doeling is Hera. I of course said, "yes she's mine." So I was thrilled to add an Oceana daughter and son to my herd. Hera was wild and timid when she got here. She didn't really change much until after kidding with her doeling Olympia. Olympia is a bold individual and so friendly that it helped to encourage Hera to be curious about us. Hera freshened with a very nice udder. We decided to keep her daughter and let her move on in hopes of being able to show Olympia. We never did get a decent photo of Hera because of her timid personality towards being handled. I never tried after Olympia was born though. Her progeny produced while here at Sweet Gum Minis.

Better Blues Good 'N Plenty![]() ![]() Photos property of Sweet Gum Minis.
Height: Plenty was another Better Blues doeling I was on the waiting list for. She however was sold. I had seen her dam's udder and was shocked. Just gorgeous! When Plenty became available I jumped at the opportunity to get her. She was bred to a Hera & Zeus half brother. Very nice buck with a Flat Rock's dam. She gave me two gorgeous gold blue-eyed doelings. With the herd reduction though I chose to sell either Plenty and one of the doelings or both doelings. Somehow or other through sales discussions and arrangements I wound up selling all 3 before realizing it. That's ok though, we still have some very fantastic animals in our herd and I'm thrilled with them! Her progeny produced while here at Sweet Gum Minis.
